Will He or Won't He?

There has been a lot of speculation over the past few weeks, especially since McCain added Sarah Palin to his ticket, as to whether or not Biden will remain on the Obama ticket and if he will be replaced by Hillary Clinton to counter the Palin effect.

If anyone has been paying attention to Biden lately, they would scratch their heads and wonder if he was trying to look incompetent so that Obama would have a good reason to ask him to leave the ticket. I mean this man is one major gaffe machine. The biggest gaffe of all was on September 10th when he told a crowd of supporters in New Hamphire,

"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of Amercia - let's get that straight. She is qualified to be President of the United States of America, she's easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America and, quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. I mean that sincerely, she is first- rate."

At this late date, if Obama were to ask Biden to leave the ticket and then add Hillary, Obama would look weak and indecisive. But is that really anything new? Somehow I don't think Obama or the Democrats would allow such political suicide. However, if Biden were to leave the ticket citing health reasons, the door would be open for Obama to replace him with no questions asked.

Currently, there is a rumor circulating around the Internet and through e-mails stipulating this exact scenario. I am not in the habit of writing blogs based on rumor, but this one might actually be a scenario that the Democrats could use to put Hillary on the ticket...to rectify an error that they feel Obama made...without making him look weak and indecisive. Here's how the scenario is supposed to play out:

"On or about October 5th, Biden will excuse himself from the ticket, citing health problems...an anueurysm, and he will be replaced by Hillary. This is timed to occur after the Vice President debate on October 2nd."

Ever since Biden made that statement about Hillary being more qualified than himself, I have felt that it was just a matter of time before the Democrats would find a way to replace Biden with Hillary. This rumor seems very plausible. If this scenario comes to fruition, then we will all know the real truth...we all knew it before they did it and we will all have dated entries to prove it.
