Say What?

I’ve actually heard people insinuate that Americans have the chance to prove they are not racist by voting for Obama. SAY WHAT?

For one thing, I do not have to prove to anyone that I am not racist. I will not be forced to vote for an inexperienced black politician just so I can say, “Hey, isn’t that great. Racism is dead in America.” I answer to only one individual, my God, and he is the only one who will judge me and my actions in the end.

For anyone to say that a vote against Obama is a vote for racism and a vote for Obama is a vote against racism is ludicrous. Whatever happened to voting for someone because you truly believe he or she is qualified to do the job?

I know that I am not a racist and I really don’t care whether anyone believes me or not. I am not going to cast a vote just to prove that point. I am not a white woman who carries around any “white guilt” for slavery…that happened over two hundred years before I was born. I also do not carry around guilt for racial crimes committed by ignorant people. I can not control the thoughts or actions of others. I can only control my thoughts and actions and my conscience is clear.
