Ding...Dong...the Bailout's Dead

Thank you...thank you...thank you...to those in the US Senate who voted down the bailout bill for the United Auto Worker's union...oops...I mean the US automakers.

On Thursday, December 11, 2008; by a 52-35 margin, the US Senate said no to President Bush. They said no to Harry Reid. They said no to Nancy Pelosi. They said no to Barack Obama. And most importantly they said no to the UAW, who is largely blamed for the failure of this bill because they would not agree to wage concessions.

My only hope is that those who voted no on this bill will stick to their guns this time...unlike the $700 billion bailout...and not cave in under any circumstances. I hope they stand up to the union and let them, and other unions, know that enough is enough. Let them know that they cannot continue to negotiate such ridiculous contracts and expect their union members to remain employed. If they don't want to accept some of the responsibility for the failure and loss of American jobs, then don't play ball with them. It's time to teach them a lesson.
